Curious Monster in Drum

Once upon a time in a village there lived an old man named Shatupa and his daughter Maya.

One day after school when Maya was returning home , she found a strange drum over the mountains. The drum was very colorful and had a different shape . She could not control her urge to play the drum so she got it home. Her father Shatupa said , “hmmm … I think we should play the drum”. So they played the drum  and suddenly out came a monster with a smiling face and said ‘ At your service’.

Shatupa and Maya got scared initially but found the monster very friendly to talk to. They decided to keep the monster in the drum at their home .

The monster served the old man when Maya was away for school. He helped Shatupa in his daily chores. In morning monster used to work whole day and at night it went back inside the drum .

One night when Shatupa and Maya were sleeping, the monster woke up and tried to explore the house. When he saw the old man’s glasses , he got very curious and wanted to try on himself and when he picked up trying , the glasses fell down and shattered into pieces. The monster also tried to wear Maya’s new beautiful glass slippers but once he started trying , the glass slippers broke from one end . The monster got scared and went  rushing towards the drum before Shatupa and Maya woke up.

Shatupa and Maya woke up next morning and saw the glasses and slippers being broken. Maya got fishy over the Monster at first. She  immediately played the drum and called the monster out of the drum and asked if he did the mischief . The monster was initially scared but was very honest so, he held on to his ears and accepted his mistake of touching and trying their things when they were asleep . Both Shatupa and Maya forgave the honest monster and appreciated his honesty.
They  told him to never touch and try anybody’s things in future without their knowledge or permission .

The monster learnt his lesson from his masters and always asked every time when he wanted to try on new things.

Moral of the story:

  1. It’s ok to make mistakes but once u make then don’t lie but accept your mistakes .
  2. Do not touch anyone’s belongings without the owner’s permission.
