The Missing Gold Gadget

“Cassie and Cal, c’mon wake up!, called Jasmine.
“Are you going to wake up late even on your birthday?”  “Cal, wake up,” said Cassie, shaking him.
“Happy Birthday twins!”, shouted Jasmine and Jack (who are Cassie and Cal’s parents) as they come downstairs.
“Thank you!” said Cal and Cassie hugging their parents. At breakfast Jasmine said “We have a surprise for you!
“Really, what?”, said Cassie and Cal together!
“Well, if you both quickly finish breakfast, get ready and come into the car, we’ll take you there instead of telling you!”, replied Jasmine with a mysterious smile.

With that, the twins were as quick as lightning to get ready and get into the car. “I wonder where we are going!?” whispered Cassie to Cal in the backseat with an excited voice. “Yeah!”, replied back Cal with the same excitement lingering in his eyes. 

After just 5 mins of driving Cassie asked, “Are we almost there?”

“Dear, you know Charelletown is a very small town and there are only a few places here. Since I  cannot tell you where we are taking you, I can just give a hint that it is a place further out of town. So, it is going to take longer that you think”, replied Jack.

“What?!”, said Cassie and Cal together with surprised expressions. Looking at their faces, both Jasmine and Jack burst into laughter! “Well, at least I brought a book”, said Cal with a sigh of relief.
“No fair”, wined Cassie.
“Hey, no snatching Cassie”, replied Cal with frustration.
Poor Cal didn’t even get to read his book as his annoying twin sister was by his side keeping a watchful eye on him. 

“Here we are!”said Jack in an excited  musical voice. It didn’t take long for Cassie and Cal to recognize where they were!
“What, are we really at the museum?!”, said Cassie with humongous eyes.
“How did you know that without even reading the name dear?”, said Jasmine with astonishment on her face.
“Oh mom, we always wanted to come to this museum. So, we have researched a lot. That’s why we know this museum!”, said Cal jumpingly.
“So let’s go explore the museum without wasting any time!”, said Jack who was already on his way to the door.

When they went inside the museum, all of them had multiple expressions on their faces. Obviously, everyone was surprised and happy! In no time, they were off with their tour guide whose name was Tom, to explore the famous museum known as the “Treasure Full Museum”!
While exploring the museum, Cal happily said that “now we can make all the other kids in our class jealous, Cassie!”.
“Oh yeah!”, replied Cassie with enthusiasm.

It’s true that time flies when you are having fun! And in no time Cassie and Cal had already explored half the museum. The tour guide told them that there is a maze in exactly the middle of the museum, which is very interesting because in exactly the middle of the maze is the most precious and unique art piece known as “The Gold Gadget”.
“And it is made of its name”, said Tom.
“It’s made out of true gold!”, he continued.
“Really?!”, asked Cassie and Cal in amazement.
“So, let’s save it for the last, shall we kids?”, asked Jack.
“Agreed”, replied Jasmine.
The twins also agreed with this, and so it was decided to check out the cool gold gadget in the end!

“We have finally finished the tour of the whole museum, so can we now go to the maze to see the gold gadget please?, said Cassie with a pleading face.
“Of course dear, that’s where we are going to go next!”, replied Jasmine with a pleasant smile.
“So, are you ready for the maze guys?”, asked Tom as they reached the maze. 
“YES!”, shouted the twins, who were bubbling with excitement.
“So, what are we waiting for? Let’s go!”, said Jack. 

Just as they were about to step in the maze, a loud siren sounded very loudly. The whole museum was flashing with red lights. There were many shrieks from the terrified children.
“What is happening?”, asked Jasmine worriedly.
“This is an alarm that rings when something is stolen!”, replied Tom. Everybody was too shocked to say anything. Their expressions showed what they were wanting to say.

It was like everything was in slow motion, nobody knew what to do! Finally after what felt like 5 hours, there was an announcement from the museum manager.
“I am very heartbroken to say that the gold gadget has been stolen.”, at that everyone gasped in shock.
“The cops have already arrived and are on their search for the thief who stole the very precious gadget. The museum will be closing down for the rest of the day and if needed it will be closed till the thief is caught. I am very sorry for any inconvenience.”, ended the manager. He went around the museum to say sorry once again, when he reached our group we replied with a “hope the gold gadget is back to its rightful place soon.”
 

On the way back, Cassie and Cal’s faces were drooped and they were both extremely disappointed and miserable. Jack and Jasmine tried to cheer them up, but how could they possibly do that if they too were sad. To make matters worse, traffic caught up with them and it took them 2 hours longer to reach home. When they reached home, Jasmine baked the twins favorite chocolate chip cookies and Jack brought their all time choice birthday cake timbits in hope of cheering them up.

The twins sure were delighted with the delicious treats! After finishing, Cassie and Cal thanked their parents for keeping their day special even after the museum tragedy. They also thanked them for the cookies and timbits. At this, Jasmine and Jack gave their kids a big hug.

“So, kids since everything is resolved, are you ready to cut your cake?”, asked Jack with a big smile spread on his face.
“Oh yes, please!”, exclaimed the twins together.
The twins enjoyed the rest of their special day despite the museum trouble. And their parents did promise them to take them to the museum once again when the gold gadget is back!
